Teaching Plan for 8A Unit 5 Task
Teaching aims:
1. Review some wild animals learned in this unit.
2. To describe appearance, food, abilities, and danger of wild animals
3. Learn to write a report with given information, and give their own opinions about endangered wild animals
Procedures:
Step1: Review and Pre-task
1. Watch a short video, and encourage students to say out their names.
(tigers, dolphins, giant pandas, elephants, monkeys, camels, zebras, etc.)
2. Review what we have learned in this unit by a guessing game.
Step2: While –task
1. Read and answer
1). What do bear look like? 2). What do most bears eat?
3). What are bears good at doing?
4). What danger are bears facing?
2. Help Simon complete the report
Fill in the blanks on P67.
Step3: Post- task
How to write a report
1. Discussion
Why are wild animals in danger? What problems are they facing?
2. Discussion
What should we do to protect the wild animals?
Step 3: Competition and consolidation
Make a poster, write reports, design activities
