Step 3Read and answer
1. What is UNICEF?
2. When and where was it set up?
3. Why was it set up?
4. How many countries and areas does UNICEF work in?
Step 4 Put the sentences into right order.
Daniel is listening to a radio programme about UNICEF. Help him put the sentences in the correct
order. Write the numbers 1-5 on page 101.
UNICEF provides basic education for poor children in many countries. It helps them go to school.
UNICEF provides clean water and food. It wants all children to be healthy.
You can help by donating money or working as a volunteer.
UNICEF raises money by selling Christmas cards and organizing other activities.
UNICEF works all over the world.
Step 5 Answer the questions about UNICEF
Mr Wu asked the students to write a report on UNICEF. First, he gave them some questions to
help them organize their ideas. Help Daniel answer the questions with the information in parts
A1and A2 on page 101.
1. When was UNICEF set up?       2. Why was UNICEF set up?
3. Where does UNICEF work?      4. What does UNICEF do to help?
5. How does UNICEF raise money?
Step 6 Daniel is writing the report on UNICEF. Finish Daniel’s report.
1. Complete his report with the information on page 101. Then listen to Daniel and check the
answers.
2. Read and explain some language points.
3. Read and finish the form about UNICEF.
Step7 Speak up
1. Listen and answer: What’s the matter with the boy?       
2. Listen to the tape and answer and do some True or False.
1) The boy does not look very well.    
2) His face is red.
3) He has felt like this for three days.   
4) He will be all right in a few days.
5) He has to take the medicine four times a day.
3. Work in pairs and make a new conversation.
Step 8 Finish some exercises.          
Step 9 Homework.
1. 复习所学内容,预习Study skills 和Task.
2. 完成随堂反馈相关练习。
 
实验后的数据收集或体会
本堂课围绕UNICEF的建立、作用、帮助范围等展开听说读写的练习。学生能在对慈善组织的了解基础上顺利地进行听读训练,达到预期教学效果。但由于内容多,本人在教学节奏的上稍快,部分学生有点跟不上,课后需要特别关注他们的作业练习,或当面指导,以弥补不足。
